Syself automates of the entire lifecycle of clusters, freeing up your teams to work on what really matters.
At the meeting, Janis Kemper, co-founder of Syself, was elected as the new Deputy Spokesperson of the Forum, joining Ralph Dehner (B1 Systems), who continues his role as Spokesperson. Janis will help coordinate the Forum’s work and contribute Syself’s practical expertise toward evolving SCS into a true alternative to hyperscaler platforms.
“
I’m honored to take on this role and contribute to a project that’s deeply aligned with our values at Syself, Digital sovereignty is more than a concept—it’s a necessity. Together, we’re laying the groundwork for open standards that empower users to remain in control of their infrastructure.
Syself, a founding contributor to SCS and the winner of the 2022 public tender for the Kubernetes-as-a-Service layer, continues to bring hands-on experience to the table. Their platform, Syself Autopilot, simplifies Kubernetes on Hetzner with high-performance local storage, open-source databases in Kubernetes, and a growing ecosystem of open services that prioritize user freedom and compliance.
“
Thanks to the continued commitment of its members, including key contributors from Cloud&Heat Technologies, plus support from organizations like OSBA and the German federal government, the SCS Forum is off to a promising start.
With strong collaboration between industry leaders and open-source advocates, the Forum is laying the foundation for a truly sovereign cloud ecosystem in Europe.
Syself is proud to play an active role in this effort. From winning the 2022 public tender for Kubernetes-as-a-Service to shaping the future of the SCS standards, the company is committed to giving users the freedom to scale infrastructure without being locked into proprietary platforms.
Syself is building the next generation of cloud infrastructure with simplicity, performance, and sovereignty at its core. With Syself Autopilot, developers can focus on building great software while the platform handles the complexity of running Kubernetes — fast, secure, and compliant in Europe.
