Syself’s Commitment to Open-Source, Kubernetes, and European Cloud Sovereignty

Syself has played a key role in strengthening Europe’s digital sovereignty through open-source cloud initiatives, particularly in the development of Kubernetes lifecycle automation and Cluster API adoption.

The company was awarded a public tender by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) to build a Kubernetes-as-a-Service (KaaS) platform as part of the Sovereign Cloud Stack (SCS) initiative. This BMWK-funded project aims to establish a truly open and sovereign cloud infrastructure for European enterprises and public institutions, reducing reliance on non-European cloud providers while ensuring scalability, security, and long-term sustainability.

A major aspect of Syself’s contribution to SCS has been ensuring high reliability in Kubernetes operations.
